Additionally, while I haven't used a second HDD or vHDD to do the same nonetheless I'd imagine it too is doable. One does not need to use any 3rd party boot manager unless it's one's personal choice! Windows 7 can be dual-booted with Windows 8 and can be done so without the use of anything other then Windows itself! It is actually very easy and quite simple and I've done it by decreasing the size of the C: partition to create a partition for Windows 8 to be installed to as shown in the image below. ![]() Windows 8 will want to upgrade Windows 7 rather than and dual boot it.
